EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A few area burn bans were lifted Wednesday after an overnight storm poured rain over the Evansville area.

Warrick County was the first to lift its ban at 10 a.m., the county's emergency management agency said on social media.

Evansville and Vanderburgh County followed with concurrent announcements later in the afternoon.

Posey County canceled its ban Saturday, Posey County Emergency Management wrote on Facebook.

The bans were put in place after a period of unusually dry weather, which ended Tuesday night as the Evansville airport reported more than 0.6 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Several portions of southern Indiana are still under burn bans.
