Air Force identifies Ellsworth airman found dead at off-base residence

The U.S. Air Force has identified the airman stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base who was found dead earlier this week.

Senior Airman William Horton, 24, was found dead at his off-base residence on Monday, and the cause of death remains under investigation, according to the Air Force. 

He was a B-1 Journeyman with the 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, according to the Air Force. 

"It is never easy to say goodbye to one of our Raiders and this week we had to. The death of Senior Airman William Horton is a tragic loss for the entire Raider family," 28th Bomb Wing Commander Col. David Doss said in a statement. "My sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and coworkers who are grieving during this challenging time."
