Evansville firefighters responded to a fire that caused damage early Wednesday morning at the Wok N Roll restaurant, 311 S. Green River Road Sept. 25, 2019.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The cause of a fire last month that led to significant damage at the Wok N Roll restaurant on Evansville's East Side will remain undetermined, the Evansville Fire Department announced in a news release Wednesday.

Fire investigators were unable to determine a cause because of the amount of debris, the release said.

Evansville firefighters responded to a fire at the restaurant at 311 S. Green River Road in the early morning hours Sept. 25. The fire caused significant damage to some attic space and the roof.

The fire was initially being investigated as a case of possible arson because of the fire's "suspicious nature."

The limited liability company that owned the property was registered to Jane Tang. Tang also owned a building in the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Evansville that caught fire in 2016. That fire destroyed her building and the one next door.
