Growth for US ethanol industry highlighted at global summit

A participant of the Global Ethanol Summit says the event showcases the potential for growth of US ethanol exports.

Rodney Weinzierl is the Executive Director of the Illinois Corn Growers Association. He tells Brownfield 60 countries are represented at the event this week in Washington D.C.

“We see the ethanol export market expanding over the next several years which will be a positive shot in the arm that Illinois agriculture and US agriculture needs.”

He says trade teams will be developed from participants of the conference that will tour sectors of the US ethanol industry.

“We will be moving them around and showing them the different ethanol capacities, our infrastructure and our ability to move ethanol overseas.”

The tours will highlight ethanol in 12 states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
