Let Mason Crosby's Lambeau Leap be your moment of zen this week

Mason Crosby and J.K. Scott leave the field smiling after Crosby kicked the game-winning field goal against the Lions on Monday night.

GREEN BAY -- It was a year in the making, but Mason Crosby finally got himself into the stands at Lambeau Field, performing his first leap into the crowd after his game-winning 23-yard field goal beat the Detroit Lions 23-22 Monday night.

"Hunter (Bradley) and I had talked about it, so if you kind of saw, he had gone through the line and I see him, and it was like, ‘Oh, this is happening now,' " Crosby said. "I didn’t like running from my teammates, it feels odd to me, I like celebrating with the guys, but that was pretty awesome."

Crosby said he and his long snapper had talked about doing a leap last year on Monday night, but he forgot about it. Bradley said it occurred to him as quarterback Aaron Rodgers was moving the offense down the field

"I didn't want to go up and jinx it so I wasn't going to be like, 'Hey, we're going to do it,' so as soon as I saw it go up and through I took off sprinting and I'm doing my FIFA celebration to get to the wall and I was just hoping he would be there also so I didn't look like an idiot. I saw him flying out of the corner of my eye and I was like, 'Yes!' "

Bradley initially said the plan was for him to provide some leverage by crouching to get Crosby up there off his back or hands, but once the kicker committed to the leap Bradley decided to just help with a hoist.

"The kickers aren’t supposed to be the most athletic guys on the squad," Rodgers quipped. "But he’s got a job to do and he does it well. I’ll be looking forward to that film of him trying to get up there. But the wall is a lot higher than you think when you get up to it, especially after some elation and maybe running around a little bit. You start sizing it up and it gets a little steep there."

Check out the video of the celebration and the assist Crosby got from Bradley.

Crosby famously missed four field goals (and an extra point) in a loss to the Lions last year, so it had to feel good to be the hero Monday.
