Possible shooting in Ventura draws rescuers

Two ambulances were dispatched to west Ventura late Saturday after a report of a possible shooting. 

The incident was reported at 11:20 p.m. in the area of Simpson Street and Ventura Avenue, where rescuers were called to assist a victim. The victim's condition was unclear. 

While they were there, another person contacted authorities saying he was nearby and reporting a minor hand wound related to the incident, according to authorities. Officers said this person's wound apparently did not come from a gunshot.
