Fire station open house canceled in Santa Paula

Staff reports

Due to the ongoing fire emergency, a Ventura County Fire Department open house that was planned for Saturday has been canceled.

The open house was to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station 29 in Santa Paula, the second such open house the agency planned in observation of Fire Prevention Week.

Various fire agencies in the county have held similar events this week.

However, as Santa Ana winds kicked up in the county, brush fires have flared, requiring crews' attention.
