Shooting near Shippensburg leaves one man dead, one critically injured

UPDATE: Shippensburg University canceled classes starting at 2:00 p.m. on Monday due to the ongoing homicide investigation.

A shooting blocks away from Shippensburg University left one man dead and another critically injured on Sunday night.

Shakur Myers, 21, of Philadelphia sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was found lying on the ground near his vehicle when authorities arrived on the scene on Rotz Avenue around 8:15 p.m. 

Samir Stevenson, 21, also of Philadelphia was also shot and flown to Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.

The two men were not students of the university, but students are known to live in the area where the shooting occurred. 

A shooter has not yet been charged, and police have not released whether the men were targeted or knew their attacker.

However, authorities did report on Monday that "individuals of interest" have been identified.

Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle Station are currently searching for Quentin Furlow, Jr., and Clayton Wilson, both 20 and of Philadelphia.

The two are students at the university, according to Trooper Megan Frazer at a press conference Monday. 

Furlow may possibly be driving a "gray 2011 Infiniti G37 bearing PA registration KZJ4211."  Wilson might be seen in a "gray 2009 Nissan Maxima bearing PA registration KYE0169," according to police.

The suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous. Any individuals with information are encouraged to contact Trooper John Boardman at 717-249-2121.

Shippensburg University increased security patrols on campus in response to the incident, but the homicide occurred outside of the university's jurisdiction.

Stevenson remains in critical condition.
