As an IT admin (and a user of the Receiver Cleanup Utility), you have most likely penned a script that executes the Receiver Cleanup Utility. You run the script before installing the Citrix Workspace app on any machine that previously had the app installed.

Well, let’s face it. All of this is time consuming and quite risky. Fortunately, with Citrix Workspace app 1909 for Windows, you can do away with this hassle. With the improved installer, ideally you don’t need to perform a cleanup. So feel free to strip off all the above steps from your script or deployment process.
Citrix Workspace app 1909 for windows introduces a new installer switch called /forceinstall. This switch intelligently detects if a cleanup is required. It cleans up any existing configuration and registry entries of Citrix Workspace app on the system and retries the installation when:
- Upgrading from an unsupported version of Citrix Workspace app
- The installation or upgrade is unsuccessful
Just include the installer switch /forceinstall while executing the installer via the command line as shown below:
CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe /forceinstall
If you are performing an unattended installation your command would look something like:
CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe /silent /forceinstall
