TOLEDO, Ohio — WTOL 11 Weather forecast:
- Widespread freeze likely Thursday morning
- Sunny and cool Thursday afternoon
- Rain returns late Friday evening
- Warm and wet weekend weather ahead
- Milder weather pattern into early May
Thicker cloud cover will gradually clear out Wednesday evening as high-pressure returns to the Great Lakes. Clearing skies will enable overnight temperatures to plunge below freezing into Thursday.
Freeze Warnings are in effect for all of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan from midnight Wednesday until Thursday at 10 a.m., due to the risk of a damaging frost. Cover up sensitive outdoor plants before bed this evening.
Temperatures will dip down near 30 degrees in the Toledo metro, and a few locations in southern Michigan may drop to the upper-20s.
Thursday will start off chilly, but bright afternoon sunshine will lift temperatures to the mid-50s. Winds will turn calmer, making for a pleasant day as long as you’re wearing a light jacket.
Thursday night could bring areas of patchy frost with temperatures in the mid-30s, but freezing temperatures are not likely.
A warm front will lift temperatures to the upper-60s Friday afternoon as cloud cover gradually increases.
Our next storm system will bring rain showers Friday evening, so pack the umbrella for outdoor activities and weekend plans. Steady, soaking rain is likely Friday night into Saturday morning as a mild southern breeze develops.
Saturday will feature mild, breezy conditions with highs in the upper-70s. Most of the day will be dry, but a few isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible.
Sunday will start off mild and muggier with temperatures in the 60s and likely dry conditions. Sunday is looking mainly dry, but an isolated thundershower can’t be ruled out.
More widespread rain chances will arrive Monday as a cold front sweeps in from the west.
Temperatures will fall slightly to the low-70s Tuesday before bouncing back to the mid-70s midweek.
Overall, the 10-day forecast looks milder than average heading into May.
