A second man has been charged in connection to the vandalism of the bronze statue of Da Crusher in South Milwaukee.

Douglas Macklin, 21, of Pembine, Wisconsin, was charged Sept. 19 with criminal damage to property. If convicted, he could face a $10,000 fine and or up to nine months in prison, according to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

A warrant is issued for Macklin's arrest.

James Dudgeon, 18, of South Milwaukee has already been charged with vandalism after he was recognized by a South Milwaukee Police Department investigator in a surveillance video of the incident. The video shows Dudgeon throwing a concrete stone at the statue.

Dudgeon said in a separate criminal complaint that he did it “to be cool.”

The statue, which was unveiled in June, was constructed to honor South Milwaukee native and pro wrestler Reggie “Da Crusher” Lisowski who died in 2005 of a brain tumor.

The complaint states that the statue was damaged on Aug. 23. Damage was found on the nose, right cheek and chest with scratches that “penetrated through the patina and into the bronze.”

That damage amounted to $1,200 and was repaired by South Milwaukee native Beth Sahagian, who built the 600-pound statue.

The complaint said Dudgeon identified Macklin from the video of the incident. Police reviewed Macklin’s Facebook page and found a photo of him wearing the same horizontal-striped shirt as was seen in the video of the vandalism.
