National ag groups to discuss current ag issues at Farm Science Review

Some national ag leaders will be at the Farm Science Review today to discuss the difficult planting season, trade, and other current ag issues.

The director of communications with the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association, says the group invited leaders from US Wheat Associates, National Corn Growers Association, and Renewable Fuels Association.

Brad Reynolds says growers will be able to talk about how 2019 has impacted their operations.

“We’re really wanting to have people stop by because we have these great individuals who can talk about all of the good things going on in a year that has been difficult,” he says.

Steve Mercer with the US Wheat Associates, Neil Caskey with the National Corn Growers Association, Robert White with the Renewable Fuels Association, and representatives with Origin Malt will be at the Ohio Corn and Wheat booth at the FSR.

He says it also helps Ohio farmers see how their checkoff dollars are being used.

“If they have questions about what their checkoff dollars are going toward we want to explain that and make sure we’re totally transparent, and explain why their checkoff dollars are important,” hes says.

The Farm Science Review runs through Thursday.
