Iowa corn is 74 percent dented

Seventy-four percent of Iowa’s corn crop has reached the dent stage, ten days behind average, while eight percent has reached maturity, 13 days behind average. 

The corn condition rating improved slightly from the previous week to 65 percent good to excellent.

On soybeans, 40 percent of the crop has begun coloring, eight days behind average, while five percent has started to drop leaves, ten days behind normal. 

Soybean condition also improved slightly to 63 percent good to excellent.
