[productsample/affiliate] There are suddenly a lot of 10 year beauty anniversaries cropping up – if there is anything to remind me how long I’ve been doing this it’s that I was at the launch of most of them!

L’Occitane Grand Cru Immortelle Divine Cream 10th Anniversary

I very well remember the venue for the launch of Immortelle being absolutely full of the little dried yellow flowers and just how seduced we all were by the thought of this botanical miracle being a skin care saviour (with its double the amount of antioxidants). The correct name for it is Helichrysum which isn’t quite so handy for the marketing but because the flower doesn’t fade, and it can survive in intensely hot conditions, it’s become known as immortelle.

L’Occitane Grand Cru Immortelle Divine Cream 10th Anniversary

L’Occitane has made huge effort to ensure this 10th Anniversary edition is special. A particular section of land was reserved in Corsica to grow Immortelle solely for this batch. It was harvested on the longest day of the year – 21st June – early in the morning, and then distilled within two hours to create a fresh batch of the fully organic essential oil that is the cornerstone of the cream.  If you’ve never used L’Occitane Immortelle Creme, it’s one of the most silky, whippy creams you’re ever likely to put on your skin. There’s an immediate sense of softness (I used it last night to remind myself and my skin is still thoroughly soft and hydrated this morning) and a real sense of luxury. In a way, it reminds me of old fashioned creams before we got all fussy about serums, acids, lotions, mists and gels in that it’s straighforwardly lovely, properly moisturising and deliciously lavish. At £89 it’s not exactly budget friendly but to be fair, I was expecting it to be more and you do get a free cleansing kit using code ROUTINE HERE.

I will just add that L’Occitane is one of few remaining brands that relentlessly bangs on about being younger looking, wrinkle reduction, youthful radiance etc. Most brands I come across have woken up to more respectful language around ageing and don’t stay stuck in the 1980’s style of knocking you down to sell you up. You can be beautiful at every age L’Occitane, and youth isn’t an essential signal of beauty. Just saying.
