[affiliate] Let’s face it, cashmere is a high maintenance material; you have to hand wash it (even machine-friendly is never the same after a spin) but once you’re a convert, you never go back! My cashmere sweaters are the only clothing items I own that I will lovingly wash in tepid water with a special ‘shmere shampoo and not mind at all. Traditionally, cashmere has always been sold in meagre sizes and I always advise to go a size up no matter what but finally brands have realised that what we want is soft and sloppy to wear not for best or form fitting but for mooching round the house with sweatpants or jeans. The front runners already in the shops and probably taking all of my money are below:

Hush UK Cashmere Sweater

This is exactly how I’d wear this cornflower cashmere sweater from Hush UK. It’s £135 (which seems to be a pretty standard price point for this season’s cashmere that’s better than high street but not quite ultimate luxury) HERE. I’ve recently added this colour in a small way to my wardrobe and it’s a great shade to counteract the nip in the air because there is still a trail of summer to it.

Mango Cashmere

So, this is an easy win from Mango in a chunkier rib knit that goes with absolutely everything from pyjamas to black skinnies to flowery skirts. It’s a good neck as well without the chin grabbing traits of a full on polo but high enough to keep you cosy. It’s £139 HERE.

Cos Cashmere Sweater

This is Cos’s sloppy version – it comes in grey (shown), navy or green and is £135. If you’ve got any faux leather trousers that’s a great combination but you know…jeans, sweatpants, skinnies – whatever you want! It’s HERE.

The main picture is a gorgeous, oversized cashmere cardigan from H&M – it comes in blue or caramel (where’s the black!) and it’s £99 HERE. I’m ruined for seeing Katie Holmes in her ‘bra-digan’ – I’ll be doing without the bra bit but all over the cardigan and it’s going to be mine as soon as I’ve finished this post!
