[productsample] Nobody could be more surprised than me to find the Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette in my hands! I haven’t heard from UD for an age. I absolutely LOVED Naked Cherry but I don’t quite have the same passion for Honey. It’s like that curious greenish-tinged mustardy colour that hit fashion last winter – in a million years I’d never add it to my wardrobe but I certainly saw some people that looked completely amazing wearing it.
There’s a lot of yellow in this palette which to me makes it a problematic wear but on the other hand, it’s very striking and if you can carry it off – wow! Perhaps it more of a question of being clever with the colours so you can have the accents without the full impact.
As you’d expect from Urban Decay, who are the bench-markers of power metallics, the colours are super-saturated and smooth as you like – completely velvety on the skin and feathery light. I can easily wear the last five and the first two – it’s the middle shades I’m kind of stuck on. I have to say that they don’t look quite as yellow in the pictures as they do in real life.
From bottom to top: Flyby, Sweet, Swarm, Amber, Keeper, Golden, Honey.
From bottom to top: Queen, Hive, Drip, HBIC, Sting. Included in the palette is a double ended brush – great quality. It’s launching on 13th September for £42. I’ve done a quick search and there are a lot of comparisons to the original and now discontinued Naked palette but I genuinely don’t see it myself. And the cynic in me thinks the original Naked will be back….

This actually looks lovely. I really wasn’t keen on Naked Reloaded – the original Naked is my jam. I hope your hunch is right – I’d love to see it back.
