Vin Baker Jr., a native of Connecticut, will have two years of eligibility remaining with UW-Milwaukee.

The son of a Milwaukee Bucks great is headed to his father's old stomping grounds to play for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

UWM men's basketball coach Pat Baldwin officially announced Wednesday that Vin Baker Jr. is transferring into the program from Boston College to play his final two seasons.

"Vin brings excellent length, athleticism, and perimeter shooting to our wing position and will get stronger in our strength and development program," Baldwin said in a release. "Vin has great character and will bring a great amount of leadership and maturity to our program."

The 6-foot-9 guard/forward will sit out the upcoming season due to NCAA transfer regulations. He appeared in 41 games in two seasons at Boston College, scoring 70 points and grabbing 39 rebounds.

Baker's father, currently a Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach, was the Bucks' first-round draft pick in 1993 and played 13 seasons in the NBA. He earned three all-star nods in his four seasons in Milwaukee. After serving for a short time in a role on Bucks television broadcasts, Baker was brought onto the coaching staff in January 2018 when the Bucks fired Jason Kidd and promoted Joe Prunty to interim head coach. Baker remained on staff as an assistant coach when Mike Budenholzer took over for the 2018-19 season.
