American Idol is looking for contestants for the upcoming 2020 season, and this time, it'll be making a stop in Pittsburgh to root out the state's hidden stars.

The show will be in Pittsburgh on Sept. 7 for an open call, hoping to strike gold in the Keystone state.

Singers will be performing in front of the show's producers to see if they'll be chosen to later audition on camera in front of judges judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

Anyone interested in auditioning is encouraged to register online ahead of time here. In-person registration will also be permitted starting at 9 a.m., but contestants should prepare to arrive as early as possible. The audition site has yet to be revealed.

On the day of the audition, you'll need a photograph of yourself and a valid form of ID. Interested contestants should also have three songs ready to sing either a cappella or with your own instrumental accompaniment.

"American Idol" judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan narrowed down their choices to the top 20 contestants for the ABC competition. But who is still in the running?

Audition requirements:

  • Contestants must have been between 15 and 28 years old on June 1, 2019. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian with them to sign off on releases during the audition process.
  • You must also be a legal citizens of the United States and not be running for political office.

Last season, York County's own Jake Puliti was given a golden ticket to Hollywood when his "American Idol" audition aired in March with him singing Montell Jordan's "This is how we do it."

Puliti's time on the show came to end at the close of Hollywood Week.
