  • Lincoln County consists of five municipalities, three of which have chosen to opt-in to the Local Election Act process

Lincoln County consists of five municipalities: Corona, Carrizozo, Capitan, Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs.

Corona, Carrizozo, and the Capitan chose to opt-in to the Local Election Act process.

The Village of Ruidoso and City of Ruidoso Downs adopted a resolution to opt-out of the local election and hold elections in March 2020. These municipalities will run their own election.

Legislators passed, and Gov. Susana Martinez signed House Bill 98, the Local Election Act, which became effective July 1, 2018, with the intent to consolidate all non-partisan elections held within a county to one election day.

Election Day for Lincoln County will be Nov. 5. General Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
