It began when a 10-year-old girl and her friend played a game of "truth or dare" while their families were on vacation.

And it ended with a 26-year-old man who had previously been convicted twice for possession of child pornography being charged with molesting the girl in his parents' York Township home.

Taylor Patrick Walter

Taylor Patrick Walter, 26, of the 100 block of Jonathan Way, was charged with two counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, corruption of minors and indecent exposure in the case.

Walter had been on probation for the two previous cases.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the case, the girl was playing a game of "truth or dare" with another girl while on a recent vacation when the girl was asked whether she ever kissed a boy. The girl replied by describing being molested by Walter.

The girl's friend told the victim to tell her parents, who then reported the abuse to Childline, which referred the case to the York Area Regional Police.

In an interview with a forensic interviewer at the York County Children's Advocacy Center, the girl said Walter molested her. The girl told the interviewer that Walter "would threaten to hurt her or her family if she told anyone," according to the complaint filed Thursday by York Area Regional Police Officer Scott Longnecker.

The child also told the interviewer that she knew Walter had previously gone to jail "for taking pictures of kids without their clothes on."

According to court records, Walter had been charged in February 2014 with possessing child pornography and indecent assault of a person under the age of 16. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to six months house arrest and five years probation.

In August 2015, according to court records, he was again charged with possessing child pornography and sentenced to four to 23 months for a probation violation. York County Common Pleas Court Judge Maria Musti Cook also extended his probation by three years. He pleaded guilty to the new child pornography charge in March 2016 and was sentenced to eleven and a half to 23 months in county prison. His probation was also extended by another four years.

For the recent charges, he was placed in York County Prison on $250,000 bail.
