Over 30 grams of meth found during warrant arrest of Evansville woman

POSEY COUNTY, Ind. — During the arrest of an Evansville woman on outstanding warrants, State Police said they discovered about 32 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Christy Smith, 42, of Evansville, was arrested and is facing charges of dealing methamphetamine Class 2 felony, possession of methamphetamine Class 3 felony, possession of a syringe Class 6 felony, possession of a schedule drug Class A misdemeanor, visiting a common nuisance Class B misdemeanor, possession of paraphernalia and warrants for escape and petition to revoke.

Anthony Crawley, 29, of Poseyville, was arrested and is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine Class 3 felony, maintaining a common nuisance Class 6 felony, possession of marijuana Class B misdemeanor and possession of paraphernalia Class A misdemeanor.

State Police said they received a tip about Smith's whereabouts and went to a home on North Locust Street in Poseyville around 11 a.m. Wednesday along with officers from the Posey County Sheriff's Office and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. Smith was there and was arrested without incident.

While inside the home, officers found a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance and about 32 grams of methamphetamine. Smith and Crawley were both taken to the Posey County Jail.
