USDA pulls staff members from crop tour after receiving threat

The USDA says it has pulled its staff members from an annual Midwest crop tour after one of the agency’s employees was threatened.

The threat reportedly came through a phone call to the employee. USDA says it was from someone not involved with the tour.

In a statement provided to Brownfield, the agency federal authorities are investigating the incident, adding “the safety of our employees is our top priority”.
