Liman and an unidentified 19-year-old passenger were traveling east side-by-side with a pickup driven by Riley Allen, 19, of Loving when for unknown reasons the vehicles made contact and left the roadway, per the release.

Liman's pickup came to a safe stop and Allen's pickup rolled, read the release.

Liman and his passenger were uninjured. Allen was ejected from his vehicle and was flown to a hospital in Texas and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

New Mexico State Police investigate an accident earlier this year on U.S. highway 285 and the George Shoup Relief Route.

An 18-year-old unidentified passenger riding with Allen sustained unknown injuries and was also flown to a Texas hospital, according to the release.

State Police didn't release the condition of the 18-year-old.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and no other information was available from State Police.

No court date was listed for Liman, according to online court records.
