Police make 2 DUI arrests at Oxnard checkpoint

A driver checkpoint Friday night in Oxnard led to the arrests of two drivers allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The checkpoint ran from 8 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Pleasant Valley Road, west of Saviers Road, the Oxnard Police Department reported.

Officers screened 466 vehicles. Along with the two DUI arrests, authorities cited 12 drivers for licensing violations, issued 14 other citations and towed one vehicle, according to police.

The checkpoint was funded by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
