Man's body found in water in Manatee Pocket in Martin County

MARTIN COUNTY — Detectives said a man's body was pulled from the water in Port Salerno Friday morning. 

Sheriff's spokeswoman Christine Weiss said the man may have fallen into the Manatee Pocket from the seawall Thursday night. Detectives do not suspect foul play and there were no signs of trauma on his body, she said.

The state Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Weiss said.

Detectives Friday were attempting to reach the man's family and confirm his identity. 

Manatee Pocket is a bay in the Port Salerno area.that connects to the St. Lucie River.
