Challenging year provides opportunities

Ceres Solutions Cooperative CEO Jeff Troike says the challenging growing season is providing opportunities for growers to learn.

“To learn about how to do things different, to maybe learn from mistakes we made this year, and to learn you can’t control everything,” he says. “But I think down the road there’s going to be a lot of opportunities still in agriculture.”

He tells Brownfield growers are looking for ways to improve their bottom line.

“It’s important to know the latest technology and products because there’s consolidation happening and you have to be efficient and you have to be on top of your game to continue in this industry,” he says.

Troike spoke to Brownfield at Ceres Solutions 2019 Knowledge Event in Perrysville.

He says the event is a great opportunity to share information with growers to help them make decisions that with positively impact their bottom line. He says Ceres Solutions Cooperative wants to help farmers do that.

Some topics include: GMOs, using data to prove sustainability, data and demo insights for crop management, and more. There will be another knowledge event in Mentone on August 29.
