Water truck overturns northeast of Oak View
A water truck overturned Friday morning in the Ojai Valley, blocking part of a road.
The truck was reported on its side at 9:13 a.m. in the 10900 block of Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The site near Oak Knoll Road is less than a mile east of Highway 33, northeast of the community of Oak View.

The person who’d been in the truck were out of it by 9:15, according to the patrol, but firefighters and rescue crews were called to the scene, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. One person suffered a potential injury and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, according to authorities.
Two lanes were blocked, according to CHP, and a tow truck was called to the scene.
It wasn’t the first accident in the region involving a water truck:
- On June 8, two men were killed when a water tanker truck overturned on Casitas Vista Road near Foster Park.
- On May 15, a 68-year-old man died after the water truck he was driving rolled off Deer Creek Road and down a cliff.
- On Sept. 21, 2016, fire engineer Ryan Osler was killed when a Ventura County Fire Department water tanker truck overturned in Santa Barbara County when he and another firefighter were on their way to help fight a wildfire near Vandenberg Air Force Base.
