Smoke, fire to be visible during Camarillo air show this weekend

Smoke and fire could be visible from the Camarillo Airport this weekend because of the 39th annual Wings Over Camarillo air show.

The air show will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Camarillo Airport, 555 Airport Way. The periods of pyrotechnics will be from noon to 4 p.m., though the air show begins at 9 a.m. both days.

The pyrotechnics include four sets of simulated bombs starting at 1:30 p.m., a single pyrotechnical event at 2:50 p.m., four additional sets of simulated bombs starting at 3:45 p.m., and a final wall of fire at 4:10 p.m.

The public is advised these pyrotechnic performances are planned and not due to an aircraft emergency. The performance may cause loud booms and visuals of smoke and fire in the air. There will be no fireworks used during the show.

In addition to the pyrotechnics, the show will also include aerial performances, military aircraft displays, classic cars on parade, live entertainment, food trucks, craft beer and other attractions.

General admission is $25, $15 for active military; $10 for ages 6 to 12 and free for children age 5 and younger. For tickets and more information, visit wingsovercamarillo.com.
