Child struck by vehicle in Chambersburg Motel 6 parking lot, flown to hospital

A 7-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in a Motel 6 parking lot in Chambersburg Sunday evening, resulting in a flight to Hershey Medical Center.

Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Wayne Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

The child was struck when running from the east side of the parking lot, crossing a driveway, heading toward the motel, according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained on the scene.

Although the child was flown to the hospital, there were no life-threatening injuries recorded by police.
