Kubota launches M8 series tractor

Under the Texas sun on the 317-acre Kubota Ranch, Brownfield’s Cyndi Young was on the ground for the roll-out of the new Kubota M8 Series tractor. The 190 and 210 horsepower models in the M8 series line are the largest tractors Kubota has ever built and are part of the company’s strategy to be a player in the North America large utility tractor market.

“People have been looking forward to a larger tractor from Kubota,” explained Kent Brown, Senior Product Manager with Kubota Tractor Corporation.

Brown told Brownfield the introduction of the M8 series is the culmination of 6 years of effort and work by the engineering department, the sales and marketing department, and everybody within the company being involved to get this tractor ready for market.

Relationships are important to Kubota.  Brown said they listened to customer and dealer feedback to build this tractor, which is a “big brother” to the M7. The M8 tractor comes in 190 engine horsepower for the M8-191 and 210 horsepower for the M8-211.  The Kubota-designed tractor was built at Buhler Industries Versatile in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is ISOBUS compatible, features a 148 cubic foot cab (the largest cab in the market for tractors of this size) and a high visibility panel in the roof.

Kubota will bring the M8 series tractor to the retail market in 2020.

“The future is definitely bright with Kubota,” said Brown. “We’re excited about the M8 and the possibilities its going to bring us in the future.  Just stay tuned.  Kubota is committed to agriculture.”

The M8 series will be on display at Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois later this month and at Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska in September. Kent Brown said Kubota will have the M8 tractors in the field across the country this fall with ag product specialists.
