Iowa good-to-excellent corn and soybean ratings in mid- sixties

The USDA’s latest good to excellent ratings for Iowa crops are 66% for corn and 65% for soybeans.

Corn silking reached 84% and 20% of the crop is in the dough stage.

Soybeans blooming reached 78% and 33% of the crop is setting pods.

Nearly all of Iowa’s oat crop is coloring at 97%. Oat harvest reached 64%, nearly one week behind average.

Pasture condition continued to decline for the fifth straight week with 53% rated good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture is rated 67% adequate to surplus. The US drought monitor shows areas in 41 counties throughout Iowa are rated abnormally dry.
