WEATHER

Rejoice, folks. The weather's going to be nice this week in the Evansville-Henderson area

Congratulations on struggling through the miserably hot and humid weather the past few days, Tri-State. Your reward arrives Monday evening in the form of much more pleasant conditions.

And here's the best part: It's going to be nice for a few days.

A cold front will swing through the region Monday afternoon, scrubbing much of the humidity from the air and leaving behind a downright comfortable environment in its wake.

Since last Thursday, dewpoints have hovered in the mid-70s for most of the daylight hours, leading to muggy, miserable conditions. (Any dewpoint above 70 degrees is considered uncomfortable. Once you get to 75, weather experts label that level as "oppressive.")

High temperature map for Monday, July 21 from the National Weather Service in Paducah.

High temperatures the rest of this week — 81 on Tuesday, and slowly climbing to 89 by Friday — will be accompanied by lower humidity than we're accustomed to in the summer here in Evansville.

There's also no mention of rain in the forecast through at least Sunday, which is as far as the National Weather Service forecast goes.

All in all: A terrific week of weather ahead.
