NY's Newest Political Parity is Raising Money and Recruiting Members

The SAM Party, part of the Serve America Movement, gained a New York Ballot Line in 2018 with 55,441 Votes in the Governor Race, with Former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner.

It doesn't have any Litmus Tests and hopes to Grow in an Era of Heightened Partisanship by being, less Partisan.

Former Pelham Mayor Michael Volpe, who was Ms. Miner's Running Mate and now the Party Chair, said the Idea is to Fight for Looser Voting Laws and Support Candidates who say they will eschew Heated Rhetoric and Solve Problems.

We have folks from all camps,' Mr. Volpe said.

It's very Reminiscent of Michael Bloomberg's Approach to being Mayor, right down to Mr. Volpe's frequent use of the Term 'Data Driven'.

But being a SAM Candidate means you can discuss Issues like Gun Control, Abortion, Charter School Expansion, or Raising Taxes.

Their Platform, An American Upgrade - We live in a diverse country and don’t always agree on everything. Neither do SAM members. But we share a set of universal principles and one ultimate goal: to fix a system that has been corrupted by the mainstream parties and the people who prop them up.

- Ballot Access, Allow More Parties and Candidates on the Ballots.

- Campaign Finance, If you’re going to say Something, put your Name on it.

- Gerrymandering, We should Choose our Officials, not the other way around.

- Ranked Choice Voting. Stop Letting Losers Win.

- Sore Loser Laws - Stop Protecting Extreme Candidates.

- Voter Registration - Remove Obstacles to Lawful Voting.
