Bill Butler, chapter coordinator for Susquehanna Valley Team River Runner, shows a radio controlled vest that was designed by Jim Riley to work in conjunction with a paddle used by a guide. The guide's controls send a radio signal to the vest that creates a vibration to alert the kayaker. Vibrations in different parts of the vest can help a sight and hearing impaired kayaker navigate.
