Sick of sweating the minute you walk out the front door?

Pennsylvania has been under an excessive heat warning for days now. On Sunday, temperatures were nearly 100 degrees in some areas.

The heat index, which combines temperature with humidity to estimate what it feels like to be outside, was between 110 and 115 degrees.

Rylie Williams, 8, stays cool during a hot summer day at the Lincolnway Swimming Pool and Sports Club in West Manchester Township on Friday. The region is experiencing some of its hottest temperatures this weekend, with the heat index expected to reach up to 110 degrees on Saturday.

The bad news is Monday will still be fairly hot, the National Weather Service said, though the excessive heat advisory will be officially over. It will be in the mid to upper-80s, meteorologist Michael Colbert said.

"It'll still feel hot and humid, but it'll be a big difference from what we've seen this weekend," Colbert said.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase throughout the day. The rain could bring some relief, but there is also a flash flood watch in effect for portions of central Pennsylvania from 2 p.m. Monday through 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Luckily, the rain and storms will bring some cooler air. Highs will generally be in the 80s Tuesday through Saturday, which is more typical for Pennsylvania at this time of year.

It'll also be considerably less humid.

"It looks like after the rain, the rest of the week will be pretty nice," Colbert said.
