News conference planned about suspicious circumstance death of Evansville man

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office will hold a news conference Sunday afternoon in connection with the Saturday night death of an Evansville man under reportedly suspicious circumstances.

According to a news release by VCSO late Saturday night, deputies responded to a call from a home in the 2000 block of Glenview Drive, southeastern German Township, around 6 p.m. Saturday.

The officers found a female, who the news release described as "distraught," outside the home. Upon entering, officers found a man dead.

Deputies reportedly found signs of a violent struggle inside the home.

Crime scene investigators were still processing evidence late Saturday evening, with the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office performing its own investigation. An autopsy on the man is scheduled for Sunday.

The woman has been detained at the Sheriff's Operations Center. 

The Sheriff's Office will speak to the media at 1 p.m. Sunday. The coroner's office will release the identity of the deceased.
