Crews battle heavy flames at Simi Valley home

Firefighters reported seeing heavy flames coming from the second story of a Simi Valley home Saturday night.

The incident was reported shortly before 9:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of Fallon Circle. The block is in a residential area east of Sycamore Drive and south of the Arroyo Simi.

Multiple units arrived from the Ventura County Fire Department and other agencies. Crews at the scene said residents had made it out of the house. They described a well-established fire on the second floor of the residence.

The main body of the flames had been knocked down by just before 9:30 p.m., and was declared fully out at 10:04 p.m. Crews said the fire had not spread to the attic.

The Red Cross was called in to help four people displaced by the fire.
