Fatal motorcycle crash reported on Victoria Avenue in Oxnard

A motorcycle accident in Oxnard killed a Port Hueneme 62-year-old man Saturday afternoon on Victoria Avenue, authorities said.

The incident was reported at Victoria and Gum Tree Street shortly after 1:20 p.m., according to Ventura County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol reports.

The intersection is on Victoria, north of Gonzales Road and south of the Santa Clara River.

The rider was traveling north on Victoria when he lost control of the motorcycle for unknown reasons and hit a guardrail, according to Oxnard police.

Speed, alcohol and drugs were not thought to have been factors in the crash, which closed northbound Victoria Avenue for much of the afternoon.

The rider’s identity was not released by authorities.
