A Penn Township man has been charged with 55 counts of child pornography after police say they found images of child sexual abuse on his computer and USB drive.

Wilhelm Charles Leimbach, 52, of the 3100 block of Grandview Road, was charged on July 12 with child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility, according to an affidavit filed with District Judge Jeffrey Sneeringer.

In April police received information from the York County District Attorney's Office about a child pornography case that was brought to them by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Through the investigation, an IP address was located and traced to Leimbach's residence.

On July 12, police received a search warrant for his home, which he shares with his mother, stepfather and stepbrother. Each had their own digital devices, which they do not share, the affidavit states.

In Leimbach's room, they located a computer and USB drive, both of which had child pornography stored on them.

They found at least 55 images and or videos of child pornography. At least 23 of those images depicted indecent contact, police said in the affidavit.

Leimbach declined to speak with police without an attorney present.

He was taken to York County prison in lieu of $75,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 8, according to online court documents.

Leimbach's attorney information is not yet listed.
