Blunt wants USMCA passed
U.S. Senator Roy Blunt called for the passage of the U.S.
Mexico Canada Agreement Thursday on the Senate floor.
The Missouri Republican says the USMCA is an improvement over NAFTA and a
strong Mexico and a strong Canada are good for the U.S., “Trade is essential, all
three of our countries agree on that. Democrats and Republicans agree on that.
Members of the House and Senate agree on that. Now what we need to agree is to
have a time to vote and approve this deal.”
Mexico ratified the trade pact earlier this year and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he will call Parliament back into session if the U.S. enacts the plan.
