FMC seeks EPA approval for two new biologics

FMC is seeking EPA approval for two biological pesticide strains for most row crops, specialty crops and cotton, “They have shown very good activity on Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Phytophthora and SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome). SDS is a little difficult disease to control.”

Kaustubh Borah is FMC’s North America commercial manager for plant health.

He tells Brownfield there have been yield improvements during trials of these biologicals which are focused on consistency of performance, “Where a company like FMC comes in is we are spending our resources in properly testing these products and taking it through the rigor of several layers of testings.”

Both are bacillus strains for seed treatment, in-furrow and transplant application. FMC expects to receive EPA approval by late 2020.
