DMC now pays for at least five months

The USDA has announced farmers who enroll in the new Dairy Margin Coverage program will receive a payment for May, the fifth of the year.

Farmers who sign up for the $9.50 coverage level will receive a payment for May after the income over feed cost margin for the month was set at $9.

Almost 10,000 farms have currently enrolled and FSA has begun paying about $100 million to producers for January through May.

Enrollment is open now until September 20th.
