Farm Aid Festival to recognize national farm crisis in Wisconsin this fall

Country singer Willie Nelson says they are bringing this year’s Farm Aid music festival to the heart of the ag economic struggle – America’s DairyLand.

Nelson, who co-founded Farm Aid, says US farmers are dealing with an economic climate like the one that sparked the first Farm Aid concert in 1985. He says their goal is to highlight solutions and show support for family farms this fall in Wisconsin.

The 2019 Farm Aid Festival will serve HOMEGROWN concessions that showcase family farm-sourced ingredients. Attendees will also hear farmers and artists discuss ag issues and share stories.

Proceeds from the festival are given to nonprofit organizations that work to strengthen family farm agriculture in the US. More than $22 million has been given to more than 300 organizations since Farm Aid was founded.

Nelson will be joined by several other artists including John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Tanya Tucker and Brothers Osborne on September 21st in East Troy, Wisconsin.
