Milk futures, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were mixed at midweek with a mostly inactive cash trade.

June up a penny at $16.32.  July up four cents at $17.08.  August down a penny at $17.43.  September also down a penny at $17.67.  October through February contracts two cents lower to a penny higher.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.3550. 

Blocks down $0.0025 at $1.8425.  One trade was made at that price.

Barrels unchanged at $1.72.  Two trades were made at that price.

Butter up $0.0025 at $2.42.  Eight trades were made ranging from $2.42.  to $2.43.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.01 at $1.0450.  One trade was made at that price.

Weekly European dairy prices are mostly lower on the week and the year.  While activity was mostly lower for the week, gains remain to be seen in skimmed milk powder and butter prices continue to post the largest losses compared to 2018.
