Missouri corn 28 percent good to excellent

Corn planting is 92 percent complete. The crop is only 28 percent good to excellent. Two-thirds of the soybeans are planted; 31 percentage points behind last year. The crop is 36 percent good to excellent. Cotton is 89 percent planted. It’s 30 percent good; none is excellent. Rice planting is almost finished, and the crop is 47 percent good to excellent. Winter wheat harvest is 18 percent finished, 45 percentage points behind last year. It’s 33 percent good to excellent. The first cutting of alfalfa is 82 percent complete, 12 percentage points behind last year. The first cutting of other hay is 45 percent complete, 30 percentage points behind last year. Topsoil moisture is 100 percent adequate to surplus.
