Iowa’s corn condition improves

The condition of Iowa’s corn crop improved over the past week to 62 percent good to excellent. That’s up three points from last week.

Iowa’s soybean crop rating also improved, up two points to 63 percent good to excellent.

However, both crops continue to run at least two weeks behind average.

Wet conditions slowed progress on the first cutting of alfalfa with just 73 percent of the crop harvested statewide. Hay condition rated 66 percent good to excellent.
