Police are asking for information regarding an attempted abduction the morning of June 21.

Around 7:30 a.m., Shippensburg Police responded to a call for a possible attempted luring of a 12-year-old child in the area of North Fayette Street and Roxbury Road.

A thin, white man stopped his car next to the young girl as she was walking by herself. The unidentified man asked her where she was going and prompted her to get into the car. She declined.

Police say the suspect has short brown hair, no facial hair and could be in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a white T-shirt at the time of the incident.

The vehicle was described by authorities as a silver four-door car.
