York woman gets crack for man, then stabs and robs him, police say

Everything appeared to have gone the way Derrick Fisher wanted as he walked around York on June 15 — he found someone to get him some crack, they agreed on a price and smoked it together.

But then the woman wanted Fisher to buy more crack and got angry when he said he didn't have any more money, according to charging documents.

Michelle Renee Brenneman, 45, of York, faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. As of Sunday, she remained in York County Prison on $55,000 bail, according to online court dockets.

Brenneman is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the charges July 22 before District Judge Ronald J. Haskell Jr. on July 22. She was also recently charged by York City Police with use/possession of drug paraphernalia. For that charge, she has a preliminary hearing July 3 before District Judge Joel N. Toluba, online court dockets indicate.

Man found with stab wounds

About 4:22 a.m. on June 15, York City Police responded to the area of East Market and Broad streets for a stabbing. Once there, they found Fisher bleeding from wounds to his left torso and left hand, documents state.

Two days later, police interviewed Fisher at York Hospital. He told them that on June 15, he was walking around the city, "searching for a person to sell him crack cocaine," documents state.

Fisher found Brenneman in the area of West Market and West streets, who said she would get him $40 of crack. After they procured the crack, the two walked to the area of Boundary Avenue and South Pine Street, and walked down an outside stairwell, where they smoked the cocaine, according to documents.

When they were done, Fisher, who was at the bottom of the stairwell, wanted to leave, but Brenneman asked to get more crack. Fisher told her he did not have any more money, documents state.

Had more money

Except that Brenneman had seen him put more money in his pocket when gave her the $40 for the crack, according to documents.

Without any more words between them, Brenneman took out a pocket knife and swung it at Fisher, stabbing him in the left side of his torso, documents state.

"She kept swinging the knife and trying to reach in his pockets as he tried to wrestle her off of him," documents state. "He was stabbed several more times throughout the left side of his body."

Fisher grabbed the knife, causing a cut to his hand, and was bale to escape from the stairwell. He called his girlfriend to tell her he had been stabbed and checked his pockets, noticing the money that was there was now gone, documents state.

Fisher picked Brenneman out of an 8-person photo line-up police showed him. Returning to the scene of the stairwell, police found a glass crack pipe and bloody green baseball hat  and a black hair pick belonging to Fisher. They also found blood droplets on the stairwell, documents state.
