The second annual Car Show of Hope will be held at Ruidoso Downs Race Track on June 22 in the parking lot next to the Billy The Kid Casino.

The event is presented by the Fresh Boyz Car Club of Ruidoso and is open to all participants who want to show off their favorite ride. The cost to enter the competition is $30, which includes a ticket to the Los Lonely Boys concert that evening on the racetrack.

“This year we’re donating our profits to the Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque,” Heber Ramos, coordinator of the car show, said. “They provide help for children who are born with the condition of having a cleft lip and we’re hoping to raise money for that important cause.”

All vehicles will be accepted into the car show and trophies will be presented for the best in several categories.

Entries will be taken between 10 a.m and 11 a.m. Cars will be on public display during the horse races and an awards ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m.

“This car show is for enthusiasts to really show off their rides from rust buckets to low riders,” Heber said. “We’re hoping to see a variety of vehicles in the car show. Everyone will have a good time and help raise money for our charity.”

Horse racing will be held that day with first post at 1 p.m., and the Los Lonely Boys concert will begin at 7 p.m. with tickets available at 575-378-4140 or visit www.raceruidoso.com.
