4-H and Google expand computer science education for rural youth

A $6 million grant from Google will help bring computer science education to youth in rural communities across the US.

The grant will allow the 4-H Computer Science Career Pathway to reach more than one million youth over three years and equip them with computer science skills that are valuable in several industries, including agriculture.

The program provides students with technology, resources and training and has reached more than 325,000 youth since 2017.

The recent collaboration with Google will bring new computer science programs to communities in 15 states including Nebraska and Ohio and expand programs in five states including Illinois and Indiana.
